Sarah Strilchuk


Sarah’s dance training began in Calgary, AB at Counterpoint Dance Academy Marda Loop, where she trained for over 14 years in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Hip Hop, Acro, Contemporary and Lyrical dance styles. Sarah has received multiple awards and recognition for her passion for dance, including the Bree Erikson Memorial Scholarship, the Katie Peras Love of Dance award, and the Jamie Hill and Tammy Linn Love of Dance Memorial Scholarship. Sarah’s first company role was with Alberta Dance Theatre in 2012, where she performed seasonally for the company for 5 consecutive years. In 2017, Sarah was a dancer of the Jeunesse Classique Ballet, performing in shows in both Calgary and Edmonton. Sarah was part of Central Memorial High School's Performing and Visual Arts program, where she had the opportunity to learn many new and versatile styles such as African, Swing, Body Percussion, and Latin. Through the 3 year program, Sarah obtained her Fine Arts Certificate and was awarded "Excellence in Dance.” After graduating, Sarah continued with her passion for teaching and dance by furthering her training through the ADAPT and Progressing Ballet Technique training programs, as well as through her Educational studies at Mount Royal University. Sarah has continued to teach and assist at multiple studios and companies instructing, inspiring, and choreographing for dancers in classes for the past 6 years, receiving multiple choreographic awards along the way, including “Best Choreographer” in 2022. Throughout her Educational studies and dance teaching, Sarah ensured to further her own dance training through involvement in classes, shows and projects with Ember Dance Company and Crossroads Dance Productions. Eager to pursue additional dancing opportunities led Sarah to move to Vancouver where she will be training in the ITP program at Harbour Dance Centre in the fall. She is extremely excited to be a new addition to the Dance Co faculty and cannot wait to see what this season will bring!
