Julie England has been in the performing arts industry for over thirty years. Born and raised in England UK, Julie is a versatile instructor, having trained in Ballet, Contemporary, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Cunningham, Horton, Graham, Limon, Acro, National, Musical Theatre, Stage, Ballroom, and Latin dance, and appeared in numerous professional performances including Annie, Pyjama Game, Olivia and The Nutcracker. Julie graduated from the London College of Dance with BA Honours in Dance and has an Associate Imperial Society Teaching of Dance Certification (A.I.S.T.D). She is also an AAC1-AAC2 Acrobatic Arts Certified Teacher and Progressive Contemporary Technique (PCT).
Upon moving to Canada in 1991, Julie continued to train, teach and choreograph both in Western Canada and the United States. Taking great pride in coaching and mentoring her students and fellow teachers, Julie has overseen the development of many young dancers who have gone on to perform professionally in many parts of Europe Barcelona, Switzerland and Germany to name a few and prestigious companies such as Cirque du Soleil, Disney, Universal Studios, Lightstrom Entertainment, London West End and on Broadway.
Beyond teaching, Julie is highly regarded for her innovative and award-winning choreography. Of the many accolades, included are The Cathy Wade Ensemble Award in Division II at the “Dance Under the Stars Choreography Festival” in Palm Desert, California; The George Lon Memorial Choreography Award at the American Dance Awards, and The Memorial Choreography Award for “Outstanding Artistic Performance” in memory of Julian Paul Masi.
When not teaching or creating choreography, Julie is a frequent adjudicator at dance competitions across Canada. She is a member of the Adjudicator Alliance, as well as the International Dance Council (CID UNESCO).
