Sarah Stonehouse

Originally from Calgary, AB, Sarah began her competitive dance training at Elite Dance Academy and has a background in various styles of dance including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Hip-hop, and Acro. She completed her Advanced 1 ISTD Ballet Exam and discovered a profound passion for dance. 

Upon moving to Vancouver to advance her training in 2015, she quickly discovered a passion for teaching. This new chapter allowed her to channel her love for dance into nurturing the next generation of dancers. She has been able to share her love for dance at many local studios and has earned various awards for her creative and innovative tap choreography. 

Outside of dance, in 2019 she completed her Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Simon Fraser University and later became a licensed Chartered Professional Accountant. She balances her career in accounting with her passion for movement and artistry by teaching dance. 

Growing up with a rich musical background, she has been playing piano for as long as she has been dancing, which deeply influences her teaching style and emphasis on rhythm. Her goal is to develop well-rounded dancers who are technically proficient but also musically accomplished and expressive. She is excited to join the Dance Co team!
