Paula Cobo Botello

Paula Cobo Botello is a dancer, repetiteur, and dance educator currently based in Vancouver, BC. Originally from Mexico, Paula trained at Escuela Nacional de Danza Clásica y Contemporánea in Mexico City from 2009 to 2014 before receiving a scholarship to further her education at Victoria Academy of Ballet in Victoria, BC 

Following her graduation in 2019, Paula joined Ballet Edmonton as a company dancer and repetiteur, working under the direction of Wen Wei Wang and later Kirsten Wicklund. She remained with the company until 2026. Over the course of her career, she has performed and toured works by an extensive roster of choreographers, including Cyril Baldy, Marie Gyselbrecht, Béatrice Larrivée, Andrea Peña, Anne Plamondon, Ihsan Rustem, Shay Kuebler, Dorotea Saykaly, and Ethan Colangelo, among others. 

Alongside her performance career, she has developed a strong and versatile teaching practice. She has taught at studios and schools including Ballet Edmonton, the Victoria Academy of Ballet, Edmonton School of Ballet, Alberta Ballet School, SGS Dance, H/W School of Ballet, to name a few. Paula brings a deep and well-rounded understanding of technical foundation as well as a strong commitment to dancers' mental health, wellness, and inclusivity in the studio.
