Milar Windsor-Menard

BALLET | POINTE | TAP | JAZZ | STAGE | MUSICAL THEATRE

HEAD OF BALLET | ASSOCIATE DIPLOMA CC-CICB

Originally from Vancouver, BC, Milar Windsor began her official dance training at Dance Co at the age of three. Milar has trained in many different styles of dance, including ballet, pointe, contemporary, jazz, tap, musical theatre, acro and hip-hop. Milar has always known that her life's work would be focused on dance. Milar was a member of the Professional Half-Day program at Dance Co during high school, where she trained for over 30 hours a week. She enthusiastically embraced this opportunity to train extensively in all styles of dance. It was during this time that she developed and honed her love for ballet. She decided to pursue this by auditioning and obtaining a spot in the highly acclaimed Professional Division at the School of Alberta Ballet. Even while training at this young age she knew that she wanted to continue her legacy and nurture a passion for ballet in other young students. She is happy to now have that opportunity. Always looking for ways to improve her knowledge and technique, Milar decided to spend the last year as a Professional Graduate of The School of Alberta Ballet and part of the inaugural year of the Teacher Training Program at the School of Alberta Ballet.

As well as dancing at the School of Alberta Ballet in their Professional Division and Post Graduate program, Milar has also trained at the Victoria Academy of Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet School, Lines Ballet School, l'Ecole Supérieure de Danse de Cannes and many others. Milar has also competed in many international ballet competitions including YAGP where she received an invitation to the YAGP International Ballet Intensive in NYC. Throughout the years, Milar has received countless scholarships and bursaries at dance competitions worldwide including most recently a full scholarship offer to the Sun Dance Summer Intensive at the Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre in Toronto.

Milar is excited to be continuing her role as the Head of Ballet and her eighth season at Dance Co.
