Angie Qi

JAZZ | LYRICAL | CONTEMPORARY | HIP HOP | TAP | ACRO


 Born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta, Angie Qi is a passionate dancer, choreographer and instructor. She discovered her love for movement at age 3 in preschool ballet and went on to train competitively in jazz, contemporary, ballet, tap, lyrical, hiphop, and other various street styles up until her high school graduation. Throughout her training, she developed versatility, adaptability and a true passion for the art form, clearly showcased through her captivating stage presence and unique movement quality. 


Throughout her years in Lethbridge, she won several awards and scholarships at acclaimed competitions across the country, while also performing at local events such as the yearly Lunar New Year Celebrations and the Mini Pop Kids Concert. Throughout the school year, she trained with the LCI Arts Academy acquiring opportunities to learn from industry professionals from all over the country such as Raoul Wilke, Lady C, Ajay Musodi, and others. During the summers, she spent her time dancing at conventions and intensives such as To the Pointe and Camp Protégé. 


After graduating, Angie moved to Vancouver to branch into the professional world of dance. She trained with Harbour Dance Centre’s Intensive training program, Two Four Seven Company and The Quill Collective working under industry professionals such as Carlo Atienza, Chanel Lacasse, Andrew Kyrzyk and many others. Angie has gained experience in many industry avenues throughout her time in Vancouver such as singing, acting, dance on film, professional street competitions and conceptual videos. She continues to branch further into her work in TV/Film, while accumulating many live performance credits such as the Vancouver White Caps Half-time Show, the Vancouver Grey Cup and several night club performances around the city.

 

Beyond her training, Angie loves creating for and inspiring the next generation of dancers with her passionate approach to teaching. When she’s out of the studio, she continues feeding her creative brain and active lifestyle by drawing, painting, cooking, working out at the gym or going for a walk outside.
