JEN

MORRIS

Jen has touched a wide range of the performing arts including dance, theatre, film and adjudicating. Originally from Burlington, Ontario, Jen started teaching at the young age of 15 to help support her extensive competitive training in jazz, tap, ballet, point, lyrical, stage and hip hop. She continued training and teaching for several years in Toronto and surrounding areas with acclaimed teachers including Ryan, Fay and Brian Foley, The Bolshoi’s Tatiana Stepanova and Quinte Ballet School’s Sandra Nicholson. In 2003 Jen moved to Vancouver to attend the theatre program at SFU’s School for Contemporary Arts. She performed extensively with many independent theatre and film companies. Jen’s love of dance shines through every student she teaches. Her passion for instilling confidence, discipline, technique and self expression through the arts is paramount in her teaching. She has had the great honour to train, mentor and inspire hundreds of students over the years, many of whom are now teachers, choreographers and professional dancers around the world. Recently, she was invited to travel to Asia as a guest faculty member at Ho Chi Minh City’s Dancentre Vietnam working with students of all ages and abilities including competitors on SYTYCD Vietnam. Jen takes enormous pleasure in having been able to share her love of dance and performance with so many students from their first class to their last.
