Cassandra Lai

BALLET | POINTE | CONTEMPORARY

Cassandra was born in Malaysia and started training at age 4 years old, studying the RAD Syllabus. At the age of 10, she was invited by her dance academy to compete in the Asian Grand Prix competition. Cassandra started part-time training with the Pointe and Music Academy in Malaysia when she 10 years old. Shecompeted in other competitions such as CSTD Malaysia, RAD Singapore and Asian Grand Prix (2016). Cassandra then moved to Darwin, Australia in 2018 to complete high school and to train in the Vaganova Method. She was the coryphée position and had the opportunity to dance in multiple soloist positions in Don Quixote, The Nutcracker and Paquita. In 2019, she was accepted into the National Ballet School, Victoria, to train professionally. Cassandra graduated with a certification of Advance Diploma of Elite Performance in 2020. She then went on to teach in multiple RAD and Vagnoava Schools. Cassandra was also a finalist in the World Ballet Competition 2021. She is currently training in the RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies program (class of 2024) and is a current company member of the Coastal City Ballet. Additionally, Cassandra holds a pilates certification and has enjoys teaching stretch and conditioning to supplement her knowledge of ballet.
